They say you can’t spoil a baby. Here’s some evidence to back up that notion. A new study suggests showing your baby affection now helps make him a happier adult.
Researchers tracked 482 babies from age 8 months through their adulthood. They observed their development, and rated how much affection and attention their moms displayed.
The same babies were revisited years later as adults. The results? Those who were nurtured the most showed the lowest levels of anxiety, hostility and general distress.
“These findings suggest that early nurturing and warmth have long-lasting positive effects on mental health well into adulthood,” the report stated.
